Why I Resisted the Mask Mandates, I’d Seen It Before.
Bullshit Laws That Restrict Freedom and Happiness to “Keep Us Safe”.
Most Americans are a fun-loving bunch. Most of us cherish the freedom to have a good time. But, there are Americans who follow the Puritan tradition of ruining everybody else’s fun. These grim, authoritarians have given us the Salem Witch trials, Prohibition, Anthony Comstock and Tipper Gore. The bottom line for these clenched-sphinctered scolds is this: someone, somewhere is having fun and somebody must put an end to it.
My primary mode of transportation is bicycling. I don’t ride a bike because it’s environmental, socially progressive or any of that virtue-signal crap. Nope, I ride a bike because it’s fun.
So, the pinch-faced puritans among us have tried to dampened all that bike fun by forcing bicyclists to wear helmets. The puritans assure us that helmet mandates improve public safety, but studies on bike helmets say otherwise. Helmets offer little protection. Helmet mandates suppress the number of people using bicycles as transportation. The best strategy to reduce injury and death is encouraging more people to bike as the Dutch haven proven.
Before the plandemic, I would encounter prudes yelling at me to “wear a helmet!”. Very often, it was fellow bicyclists who belonged to the Bike Helmet Cult.
So, when I heard the same “we’re keeping you safe” arguments in 2020 about masks, I knew it was bullshit. The prudes don’t give a rat’s ass for our safety. They just don’t want us to have fun. The mask mandates were accompanied by other restrictions on getting together for the purpose of having a good time. The Mayor of Indianapolis outlawed dancing and threatened to “go all Footloose” on any public establishment that permitted dancing… yes he did.
Here’s a video I made years ago about bicycling and freedom… and the prudes who can’t handle other people having a little fun:
Hello from the UK
Many thanks for your post. Re "My primary mode of transportation is bicycling. I don’t ride a bike because it’s environmental, socially progressive or any of that virtue-signal crap. Nope, I ride a bike because it’s fun."
I ride my bike for all sorts of reasons; it's cheap, efficient, doesn't pollute and is quiet. I can park it most places or throw in the the ditch out the way if I need to whilst I go behind a bush!
I can get around town perhaps as quickly as a car, at least over a mile distance or so.
I can stop and take in the view and take photographs.
It keeps me fit and I can appreciate the weather all seasons round, although icy conditions are not good.
But yes, overall it is satisfying and fun.
Regarding cycle helmets I agree. I consider what's the point in being protected so much when life is to be lived and enjoyed. Anyway, what the helmet cult are feeding into is the manufactures desire to make money which is the driver behind so much of the foolish health & safety culture.
I have never worn a mask during the Covid 19 nonsense. I am not jabbed, having worked out in June 2020 that all vaccines are to be avoided like the plague and I don't like plague.
I wrote this on the mask silliness, so it is sensibly silly too if you understand me.

Brilliant. And so true.
